Our first steps as a certified B Corp in 2025

Accountability has become the baseline for business. Stakeholder governance¹, credible climate transition plans² and supply chain transparency³ are now expected by regulators, investors and consumers. UK Sustainability Reporting Standards are aligning with international frameworks⁴ and new Home Office guidance is raising expectations for ethical supply chains⁵. For brands, the question is no longer whether to act. The question is how transparently and how quickly.

Our B Corp certification sits within this wider shift. It is not a badge. It is a commitment to continuous improvement and shared value creation.

What B Corp certification means for businesses

The B Corp movement is part of a growing global network of companies using business as a force for good. Today, there are around 10,000 certified B Corporations across 105 countries and 160 industries⁶. In the UK, the B Corp community has expanded fivefold since 2021 to over 2,500 companies⁷. Awareness is rising too. Half of UK consumers now recognise the B Corp mark⁸.

Certification requires a verified B impact assessment score of at least 80 points⁹. Companies must also make their performance transparent on the B Lab directory¹⁰ and embed stakeholder governance into their legal structure¹¹. It’s a rigorous process that signals accountability, not marketing spin.

Our B Corp journey so far

Since becoming a certified B Corp, we have prioritised clarity and action.

  • Team engagement – building literacy so that decisions at every level align with our B Corp status.

  • Client communication – sharing openly how certification shapes delivery and measurable outcomes.

  • Supplier dialogue – strengthening due diligence and encouraging shared standards.

  • Public touchpoints – updating our email footers, social channels and profiles to reflect our certification.

This is not self-promotion. It is about transparency and shared purpose.

Community involvement in the B Corp community

We have joined The B Hive, B Lab’s collaboration platform where B Corps exchange knowledge and resources¹². We are also developing relationships with local B Corps to co-create initiatives that extend positive impact across our region. These exchanges are a reminder that collaboration accelerates change.

Adopting the new impact standards from B lab

In April 2025, B lab introduced new standards that place sharper focus on climate action, equity and human rights¹³. These standards raise the bar for certified companies. Recertification occurs every three years¹⁴. We’re already aligning our practices so that future assessments demonstrate progress as well as compliance.

Why being a certified B Corporation matters for clients

Certification matters because it reduces risk for clients in a shifting accountability landscape.

  • Ethical supply chains – stronger due diligence and modern slavery compliance build confidence in delivery⁵.

  • Transparency by design – impact scores and disclosure requirements mean our performance is open to scrutiny¹⁰.

  • Measurable positive impact – certification covers governance, workers, community, environment and customers with a verified threshold of 80 points⁹.

  • Continuous improvement – recertification every three years ensures accountability for progress¹⁴.

For brand teams, this means partnering with an agency that shares your responsible business goals. It also means working with a team whose practices are aligned to the growing demand for authenticity and impact.

Market signals driving transparency requirements

Consumer expectations reinforce the value of the certification process. Globally, people are willing to pay nearly 10% more for sustainable products¹⁵. In the UK, 63% of consumers expect brands to help them live more sustainably¹⁶. Awareness of the B Corp mark has reached 51% of UK adults⁸.

Meanwhile, UK B Corps are outperforming their peers. Small and medium B Corps recorded 23.2% turnover growth from 2023 to 2024 compared with a national average of 16.8%¹⁷.

B Corp certified plaque

Our plaque as a cultural symbol of social and environmental performance

Our B Corp plaque, designed by fellow B Corp Elvis & Kresse¹⁸, is made from reclaimed firehose and scaffolding wood. It serves as a practical and symbolic reminder that every decision leaves a mark.

Our next steps

  • Use the B impact assessment as a management tool to prioritise improvements that strengthen both client outcomes and environmental impact.

  • Align now with the new impact standards from B lab so we are ready for recertification.

  • Expand supplier engagement with a focus on ethical and transparent sourcing.

  • Continue sharing knowledge through the B Corp community and The B Hive to accelerate collective action.
